Are You Ready to be a College Student?

  • Is your high school GPA 3.0 or higher?
  • Are you a good time manager?
  • Are you self-motivated?
  • Are you ready for college level of study?
  • Are you a spring term sophomore, or a junior, or in the fall term of your senior year in high school?

If so, you can earn up to a year's worth of college credit online by enrolling in UA Early College. You'll get a taste of college life, and a jump on earning your college degree.

Step 1: Apply to UA Early College

Students who are admitted to Early College move on to Step 2.

Applicants will receive email and/or phone contact from UA Early College once their application materials are received.

Step 2: Participate in a Gateway Session

Once you have successfully completed and passed UAEC 200, you will receive two hours of college credit, and move on
to Step 3.

The Gateway Session marks the beginning of your first Early College course, UAEC 200: Gateway Academic Potential and is offered on the UA Campus or online. After participating in this session, you will complete the UAEC 200 course over the following 4 weeks.

Step 3: Early College General Education Courses ("core curriculum")

Early College students may continue taking courses through the summer after high school graduation.

These courses are:
  • Offered online year-round (fall, spring and summer)
  • Available 24/7
  • Taught by SACS-accredited instructors
  • Transcripted as regular UA freshman- and sophomore-level course credit
  • Also available on campus during summer term

Student-centered instructors, peer coaches, and a staff support team surround Early College students and parents with a strong support network. Students also have full access to University resources and technical support.
